Jim Corbett National Park

Jim Corbett National Park is one of India’s most famous wildlife reserves, located in the Nainital district of Uttarakhand. It is the oldest national park in India, established in 1936 as Hailey National Park, and was later renamed in honor of Jim Corbett, the renowned hunter and conservationist who played a significant role in its establishment.

Known for its Bengal tiger population, scenic landscapes, and a variety of flora and fauna, it attracts wildlife enthusiasts, photographers, and nature lovers from across the world.

  • Trekking: Explore buffer areas of the park and nearby forests.
  • River Rafting: Available in the monsoon season (depending on the water level of the Kosi River).

Best Time to Visit:

  • Winter (November–February): Best for birdwatching and spotting animals in cooler weather.
  • Summer (March–June): Ideal for wildlife sightings as animals gather around water sources.
  • Monsoon (July–September): Only Jhirna Zone remains open; fewer tourists and lush greenery.
